Event promoters do all that is necessary to bring live action sports to an arena or track near you.
From choosing the venue, managing the ticket sales, creating local and national advertising, building the track, managing
the pits, signing up the riders, developing the qualification schedule, running the races, and conducting the post race interviews.
Within
the event itself there are endless opportunities to achieve brand recognition and connect with the attending and extended
audiences. Dash for cash, Hole Shot awards, on-track advertising, product give-always, almost anything that you can dream
up can be developed.
To illustrate how event promotion can work for you, one program that has been very effective is
the Racer X Gas Card. Racer X magazine offers a gas card to the first rider who did NOT qualify for the main event. The award
is identified as the Racer X Gas Card. The recipient stands on the podium at the end of the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) and
receives a check for $750 from Racer X Magazine. Racer X Magazine along with the race team, photographers, and event promoters
use the rider's name, team name, and Racer X in their promotional activities through-out the year. To further promote
the event, Racer X Magazine auctions off the rights to the card for each event in the Supercross series allowing fans to purchase
the rights to give away the card at their favorite venue which includes a VIP package providing the fan total back stage access.
The name Racer X Gas Card will be announced a minimum of two times during the event, be highlighted in both television shows,
appear on the Racer X website, and be promoted in numerous blog boards each and every week of the series. Ask any fan and
they will proudly describe what the Racer X Gas Card is all about.
